Privacy Policy

kharcha never connects to your bank, UPI, or any financial institution. We do not read your SMS, emails, or notifications. Every transaction in kharcha is one you typed in yourself.

To run your account we store the data you enter: your name, the city and user type you provide during setup, your monthly income figure, your envelopes, and the expenses and transfers you log. This is kept in our database (hosted on Supabase) and protected by row-level security, meaning only your authenticated account can read it.

We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to understand how the app is performing and how people use it. This helps us find bugs and make the experience smoother. These services collect anonymous technical data and do not have access to your financial entries.

We show advertisements via Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings.

We do not sell or rent your personal financial data to anyone. While we show ads, your specific expenses, envelope names, and income figures are private and are never shared with advertisers.

You can export all of your expenses and transfers to CSV at any time from Settings — the file is generated on your own device. You can also permanently delete all of your data from Settings → Danger zone. Once deleted, it cannot be recovered.

We use Supabase Auth to manage sign-in. Your password is hashed and never visible to us. Password-reset links are sent to your email and expire shortly after.
